OrbitalFleets is an ongoing project by illustrator/graphic artist,
Nate Utesch. At the retirement of NASA's US Space Shuttle program, OrbitalFleets is a 30th anniversary poster series. Throughout the course of the year, a large, 2-color, silkscreened poster and a small, full-color, art print will be developed for each of the five orbital vehicles of the United States Space Transportation System.
The silkscreened OrbitalFleets posters are hand-pulled by illustrator-designer-printmaker extraordinaire, Shaun Malinowski of
Good Stuff Design Co. What to expect from a hand-pulled, silkscreened poster that contains thin lines, small type and fine details:
imperfections. Naysayers of fine, hand-printed materials may call it broken lines, filled in letters, slight mis-registration, inconsistencies and inky thumbprints. We call it character. And we can't wait for you to see it.
Keep checking back here or follow Nate at
@nateutesch for updates on the series and future prints. All OrbitalFleets purchases go directly into the printing operations of the art and fiction journal,
Ferocious Quarterly. All posters are sold via mail-order at the
Ferocious Quarterly webstore. All "Crew Series" art prints are managed via the fine folks at
Society6.
